DLP Network Prevent integration with Messaging Gateway Quarantine fails following update to SMG 10.5.2
Last Updated October 21, 2014
Following the update to Symantec Messaging Gateway 10.5.2, DLP Network Prevent integration with the Messaging Gateway Spam Quarantine using the Flex Response plugin fails.
28 May 2014 16:47:44,058- Thread: 148 SEVERE [com.symantec.dlpx.flexresponse.emailquarantineconnect.EmailQuarantineConnectPlugin] javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure Cause: com.symantec.dlpx.flexresponse.emailquarantineconnect.EmailQuarantineConnectException: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure com.symantec.dlpx.flexresponse.emailquarantineconnect.EmailQuarantineConnectException: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure
The update to SMG 10.5.2 increased the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol version required to connect to the Messaging Gateway Control Center from TLS 1.1 to TLS 1.2. The DLP Flex Response plugin used for quarantine management is currently limited to TLS 1.1 or earlier. This change to the required TLS protocol version affects all TLS secured API calls made to the SMG Control Center web application and is not specific to the Flex Response plugin.
This issue was addressed in DLP version 12.5.1, please upgrade to this version at earliest convenience.
Support TLS Version 1.2 for SMG 10.5.2
