Communication between the Detection Server and the Enforce Server drops after connection made

Issue/Introduction

Dropped connectivity between detection server and Enforce. This can be exhibited on the System Servers Overview screen

Cause

Communication was interrupted.

Multiple factors can cause this:

  • Hardware failure
  • Networking issue
  • External software

Resolution

The Detection Server fails to establish communication with the Enforce Server because there is miscommunication between the Detection Server and Monitor Controller.

To resolve this issue:

  1. On the Enforce Server, restart the Monitor Controller Process (SymantecDLPDetectionServerControllerService).
  2. On the Detection Server, restart the Monitor process (SymantecDLPDetectionServerService).

If this does not resolve the issues contact Technical Support.
