Issue/Introduction

Symantec Data Loss Prevention can not monitor FTPS (FTP over SSL)

Resolution

Because FTPS adds either Transport Layer Security (TLS) or Secure Socket layer (SSL) cryptographic protocols to FTP, the resulting traffic is encrypted.  Symantec Data Loss Prevention Network Monitor Detection Server can not monitor the encrypted traffic for protected data.
