Issue/Introduction

How can I scan a Linux file system with a Network Discover file system scan, if the Linux file system uses a Samba server 3.0.x or older?

Resolution

Before starting the scan of a Linux file system that uses Samba 3.0.x or older, add a property to a Network Discover configuration file.
Edit the properties file Protect\config\Jcifs.properties.
Set the following JCIFS client parameter to false:

jcifs.smb.client.useExtendedSecurity=false

This parameter must be set to false because older versions of Samba do not support raw NT LAN Manager Security Support Provider (NTLMSSP).
