When attempting to manually start the Symantec DLP services, you receive the following error message:
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely manner.
The DLP logs provide little or no information to assist in troubleshooting the error.
This is a very generic Windows error and may have multiple root-causes, though the solution below has been confirmed to resolve the issue on systems that have been "hardened".
In case the above change did not solve the issue, reach out to your GPO team to make sure that there is no permission missing which can cause the error.
