Error when I index a shared folder using international characters such as Hebrew or Greek
Last Updated January 18, 2011
In creating an IDM using the UNC path containing International characters such as Hebrew or Greek, I got the Error:
Empty Directory, nothing to be indexed (Creating Index Version 1)
I want to create an IDM profile with this shared folder:
This path contains interntional characters (ex. Greek) and the tomcat logs show this error:
13 Oct 2010 09:52:24,948- Thread: 192 INFO [com.vontu.directorycrawler.sharepointmapper.SharePointMapper] Mounting share: \\192.168.50.40\c$\testshared\ψιαο on m: 13 Oct 2010 09:52:25,260- Thread: 192 INFO [com.vontu.directorycrawler.sharepointmapper.GenericSharePointMapper] Share Specified does not exist : \\192.168.50.40\c$\testshared\ψιαο 13 Oct 2010 09:52:25,260- Thread: 192 WARNING [com.vontu.directorycrawler.AbstractFileSystemCrawler] error processing content root Cause: com.vontu.directorycrawler.VontuFileException: The specified path cannot be found -- System error 67 has occurred. The network name cannot be found. java.lang.Throwable: The specified path cannot be found -- System error 67 has occurred. The network name cannot be found.
I can browse the shared folder from the Enforce server but the IDM still shows error.
The problem is the Regional and Language Options setting on the Enforce server.
Be sure the "Language for non-unicode programs" option is set to the same international character language of the PATH. (ex. Hebrew)
Open the Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options
- click on the tab Advanced
- set the "Language for non-unicode programs" to the same international character language of the PATH. (ex. Hebrew)
- reboot the Enforce server.
