Apple Push Notification Service Changes - Mobility Suite Update Required
Last Updated April 25, 2019
In response to a recently discovered security vulnerability in SSLv3.0 (“POODLE”), Apple has updated the Push Notification Service (APNS).
In order to remain compatible with APNS, Mobility Suite (previously known as App Center) requires an update. Mobility Suite hosted (SaaS) instances have already been updated. If you have an on-premise instance of Mobility Suite, you need to contact support to obtain the update.
Without the update to Mobility Suite, APNS notifications do not occur to your mobile devices running the iOS Work Hub. Without the update to your Mobility Suite, you see the following symptoms :
If you rebuild your iOS work hub, your iOS work hub icon does not receive a badge notification.
If you update an app (in the mobility manager console), your device users will not receive a badge notification to their iOS work hub icon.
Using the Ping command will fail. (Issuing the Ping command to a device is done by accessing the Devices page > clicking on a specific device > clicking Commands > click Ping)
