When using the management server configuration wizard, you receive a "failed to connect to server" error when attempting to use Windows Authentication to connect to or create a SQL database.
You see the following error in install_log.err
Nov 25, 2014 11:59:55 AM STDERR: java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'domain\sepmuser'
The account specified in the error is not the account specified in the wizard.
The management server configuration wizard will attempt the connect to SQL using the same account used to the launch the wizard. If this account is denied logon to the SQL server, the connection will fail.
1. Launch sca.bat from the SEPM's bin directory with the desired Windows account. (You may need to make this account a local administrator on the SEPM) To specify another account, use Shift + Right click and choose "run as different user."
2. Provide the necessary logon rights for the SQL server to the administrator account currently being used.
