Issue/Introduction

You want to configure the SQL server to use encrypted communication with Symantec Management Platform

First you need to configure the SQL to use encryption, for that follow the Microsoft article below :

After you have configured the SQL to use encryption, please follow the steps below to configure the Symantec Management Platform to communicate with SQL using encryption :

1. Go to <Install Drive>\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\Tools\

2. Open NSConfigurator

3. Expand Security Settings -> DbEncryptedConnection

4. Check the box "Enabled"

5. Click "Save"

5. Restart all the altiris services and SQL services (on the SQL box) :

- Altiris Client Msg Dispatcher

- Altiris Client Task Data Loader

- Altiris Event Engine

- Altiris Event Receiver

- Altiris File Receiver

- Altiris Inventory Rule Management Service

- Altiris Monitor Agent
