Symantec ITMS 7.5.SP1 HF4 (and below) with Inventory Solution Installed.
It was noticed that table Inv_Installed_File_Details contains many obsolete records about client files although Full Inventory had been successfully performed. Therefore the table may become "oversized" in some environments and consequently Symantec_CMDB database performance may downgrade in general.
The root cause of the problem is that an XML key "resource partialUpdate" is always set to "true" when managed computers deliver Notification Server Events (NSEs) to Notification Server (NS) after Full Inventory.

The key set to "true" appends data to the table, instead of overwriting it. The processes are very similar to DOS ">"(Greater Than) - "overwrite" and ">>" (Double Greater Than) - "append" operations. "Overwrite" never happens.
No errors in Altiris log files.
The fix was provided in ITMS 7.5 SP1 HF5.
