There are several possible symptoms when the celery service is stopped. Here are two:
The new Symantec Secure Email clientis not visible to the users who are enrolling the iOS devices in the LABS app center. Also, the Compliance rule status is showing Not Compliant with the message “Insufficient data gathered to determine compliance” for the devices on which the app is not showing up.
The Symantec Secure Email is having issues with the functionality of S/MIME certificates. Even though the certificates are installed fine for signing, encryption and decryption, when it comes to decrypting an email it failed with one of two error messages: “Decryption failed due to an error. Please verify that SMIME certificates are correctly set.” Or “Please wait while the contents are decrypted”, but it never finishes.
“Insufficient data gathered to determine compliance” and “Decryption failed due to an error. Please verify that SMIME certificates are correctly set.”
The logs showed that the celery service had stopped.
Restarting the celery service resolved all of the above issues.
This applies to versions 5.x of Symantec Mobility Suite, RHEL/CentOS 6.5, 64-bit, and SaaS
