Software Inventory for Unix, Linux and Mac is not reporting the uninstallation of applications

After correctly identifying installed applications, Software Inventory Solution for Unix, Linux and Mac (ULM) is not reporting when those applications are uninstalled. This results in a false positive report that an application is still installed on a client machine.
A typical scenario is when a Mac app is moved to the Trash rather than uninstalling via the app's uninstall process, which leaves behind various Receipt files, etc.
Uninstalled applications are still reported as being installed in NS console reports, Resource Manager, etc.

To test this point fix:
Download the point fix to the NS server and unzip it, preferably into a new directory.
Change to the new directory and unzip the enclosed 'ULM.zip' file, also. This will make all enclosed files available for manual copying.
Drill down into the ULM directory to the desired platform and copy the corresponding SMF agent package and the corresponding 'rollout-smf.sh' script to a test machine(s). There should be two files for each platform.
On the client, run the 'rollout-smf.sh' script to install the updated SMF agent.
Perform any desired testing on the client using Software Inventory tasks or policies involving running inventory tasks/policies, uninstalling apps, rerunning inventory, etc.
Once validation is performed satisfactorily, install the complete package to the NS, as shown next.
To completely install the point fix on the Notification Server:
On the NS, change to the new point fix directory.
As administrator, run PfInstaller2.exe. This will install the new SMF agent files to the NSCap directory for each OS platform.
Previous versions of the SMF agent binaries will be backed up to the <current directory>\ULM\Backup directory.
Enable the upgrade policy for the ULM Agent, which is found in the console at: Settings, All Settings, Agents/Plug-ins, Symantec Management Agent, UNIX/Linux/Mac, Symantec Management Agent for UNIX/Linux/Mac - Upgrade.
The clients should eventually download and install the new SMF agent per the policy settings.
Note: It is possible to manually copy the native SMF agent file and corresponding rollout.sh script to each client for a manual installation/upgrade.
Note: The client agent version will change to 7.1.8291.
