To scan SharePoint Online targets with Network Discover, you must install the SharePoint Solution on the Web Front End of your SharePoint Online Dedicated service.
Before you deploy the SharePoint solution on your SharePoint Online Dedicated service, ensure that the account you are using for the deployment has Full Read access to all web applications. If you have an earlier version of the SharePoint solution deployed to SharePoint Online Dedicated, remove that version by following this procedure:
Open the SharePoint Management Shell.
Navigate to the Installation Scripts folder.
Execute the UninstallPreviousSolution.ps1 script to remove the previous version.
Deploying the SharePoint Solution on SharePoint Online Dedicated
To deploy the SharePoint Solution on your SharePoint Online Dedicated service, follow this procedure:
Copy the SharePoint solution installer Symantec_DLP_Solution_14.x.exeto the Installation Scripts directory on the SharePoint Online Dedicated Web Front End server. This file is located in the DLP_Home\Symantec_DLP_14.x_Win\Third_Party\SharePointor DLP_Home/Symantec_DLP_14.x_Lin/Third_Party/SharePointdirectory, where DLP_Homeis the name of the directory in which you unzipped the Symantec Data Loss Prevention software.
Double-click the Symantec_DLP_Solution_14.x.exefile. The Symantec DataLoss Prevention solution installation program starts.
Click Next, and the installation program performs a number of preliminary checks.
If one of these checks fail, correct the problem and restart the installation program.
Accept the Symantec License Agreement , and click Next.
The installation program copies the files and deploys the solution to all Web Applications in the SharePoint farm.
To verify the deployment, navigate to Central Administration > Systems settings > Manage Farm Solutions and verify that the solution “Symantec_DLP_Solution_14.x.wsp” is deployed successfully in the farm.
Uninstalling the SharePoint Solution from SharePoint Online Dedicated
To uninstall the SharePoint Solution, follow this procedure:
In SharePoint Online, open the SharePoint Management Shell.
Navigate to the Installation Scripts directory.
Execute the UninstallCurrentSolutions.ps1 script to remove the SharePoint Solution.
To verify that the current solution has been uninstalled, navigate to Central Administration > Systems settings > Manage Farm Solutions and verify that the solution “Symantec_DLP_Solution_14.x.wsp” has been successfully removed from the farm.
