Once Web Email Protection has been activated by disabling the rule Always Secure With Key Only in the
Outbound: Secure Message policy chain, internal users may cause automated messages in languages other than English to be sent by including one of the following items of text in the
Subject field of their outgoing message:
By default in release 10.3.2 MP10, 11 new rules are added to the mail processing rules under the
Outbound: Secure Message mail policy chain. The rules are all named
Use Language templates where Languageis the name of the language, eg
, Use French templates.
They are used to set the default language for Web Email Protection users. This is new functionality introduced in release 10.3.2 MP10
. The matching rule will be triggered if an outbound email message subject contains one of the above items of text.
The rules are all enabled by default, therefore it is possible for them to be triggered inadvertently when an internal user sends a message to an external user.
To avoid these rules being triggered inadvertently, disable the new rules:
Login to the administrative interface of Symantec Encryption Management Server.
Navigate to the list of mail policy chains by clicking on Mail / Mail Policy.
Click on the chain named Outbound: Secure Message.
Click on the Use French templates rule.
Click the check box next to This rule is enabled in order to disable the rule.
Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the remaining 10 Use Language templates rules.
