In 7.1, 7.5 and 7.6 While creating or modifying an enable/disable policy task not all policies are listed when browsing for the policy.
This is a known limitation of the product
This issue will be fixed in a future version of the product.
To work around the issue use the following steps:
Create an enable/disable policy task and select any policy that you are able to browse to. (make note of which policy it is)
Browse to the policy that was selected
Right click the policy and select "View Xml"
Make note of the itemguid of that policy (copy it to notepad)
In the console, browse to the policy that is unlisted in the UI that you want the enable/disable task to control
Right click that policy and select "View Xml"
Make note of the itemguid of the policy (copy it to notepad)
Browse back to the enable/disable task that was created in step 1
Right click the task and select export and save it to the desktop
Edit the exported .xml file on the desktop
Find and Replace all instances of the first policy guid (collected in step 4) and replace them with the policy guid collected in step 7.
Find all instances of <version guid="xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx" and alter the guid so it is unique. Note: Don't add additional characters, it must keep the same format. Valid characters are 0-9 and a-f
Save the .xml file
Delete the enable/disable task in the console
Right click the task folder you want the enable/disable task in and import the saved .xml file
Verify that the task is now pointing to the desired policy:
