BUG REPORT: Files that are compressed (zipped) while located on a removable storage device are encrypted, even though the policy is set to "Do not encrypt" for Removable Media Encryption

When attempting to compress (zip) files that are located on a removable storage device, Removable Media Encryption attempts to encrypt the file. This happens even if the policy is set to "Do not encrypt" new files.
Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. This issue is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version or Maintenance Pack of the product. Please be sure to refer back to this document periodically as any changes to the status of the issue will be reflected here.
Temporary Workaround: When files need to be compressed, move them off of the removable device onto the local machine, and compress the files from there. Then the .zip file can be copied back to the removable device
