Customer cannot search for Software in various console elements, including under Manage > Computers and when trying to add software packages to policies and tasks. Clearing the search parameters does not bring back the previous results (All Software). After either refreshing the entire browser or going to Manage > Computers, it does repopulate the list of software. One other thing is that this issue also affects the Jobs/Tasks and Policies blades. It’s not just the Software blade.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Log into the SMP console, navigate to manage > computers 2. hightlight a machine in the computer list 3. In the right pane, expand the blade for software, notice that it is populated. 4. Search for software in this list using the search box within that blade. The results will show nothing. 5. Clearing the search will not bring the original list back.
Known Issue. Search control In Silverlight (Right-Pane Grids) not working correctly.
This issue has been reported to the Symantec Development team. A fix will be added to the ITMS 7.6 HF7 release (ETA December 2015).
A pointfix is available for customers with ITMS 7.6 HF5 installed. See attachment "Pointfix_eTrack3871973_7.6_HF5_ECV.zip"
Extract files from the archive to the SMP hard drive. Make sure that point fix is not extracted to Altiris install directory (or any subfolder to it). Run PFInstaller.exe as administrator.
Execute PFInstaller.exe with administrative privileges (right-click > Run as administrator). Select "Install Files".
Accept UAC (User Account Control) prompt, select Install Files. Old binaries will be automatically backed up to the Backup folder at the same location where PFInstaller is and replaced with the new ones. Log-file log.txt will be created at the same location where PFInstaller is.
Close the PFInstaller window.
NB! It is suggested to clear browser cache after applying this fix. You can use the attached “clear_cache.bat” included with this pointfix.
HOW TO UNINSTALL POINTFIX
Make sure that Backup subfolder is located in PFInstaller directory.
Execute PFInstaller.exe with administrative privileges (right-click > Run as administrator). Old binaries will be repaired from Backup folder located at the same location where PFinstaller is. NS services should be started automatically.
