Software Update Policies fail to target within Hierarchy
Last Updated December 14, 2015
Created Software Update Policies on Parent SMP, they replicated to Child SMPs without errors; however, there are errors present on the Child SMP regarding these Software Update Policies and/or the Software Update Policies fail to target the Clients that are showing Applicable in the Compliance Reports.
Unable to get config xml for the advertisement
Replication failed to pull down the ProgramItem data and resource associations to the advertisements failed to be implemented for the Child SMP environment.
Isolated the issue within Core Code and will be resolved.
Currently under review by Symantec Corp.
Workaround as follows:
Run the following SQL Script against the Parent SMP Database (default name: Symantec_CMDB):
Note: The script is configured to run with CreatedDate > getdate of 90 days; this may need to be modified per environment.
begin tran update replicationitem set isreplicable =1 where guid in ( select guid from vitem where classguid ='0CEC577A-0319-401E-A0A4-36ADABD0BE05' and CreatedDate > getdate () -90) and isreplicable = 0
Run the following to execute script: commit
Run the following to undo execution: rollback
Configure the Child SMP 'Complete' Replication to be the next replication to fully build all needed associations with a full replication:
Go to the Console > Settings > Notification Server > Hierarchy > Topology
Right-click on the affected Child SMP > Edit > Schedule tab > Complete Schedule Enabled; modify the schedule to be the next replication run
This may need to be reviewed as the 'Differential' could be the next scheduled run, and if so then that will need to be temporarily disabled, and then allow for the 'Complete' schedule to run when allowable for the environment as it will be a much heavier process than the 'Differential'
The following is the location to modify the schedules:
