When external users have access to the Web Email Protection (WEP) portal to use the Secure Reply link to respond to a PDF Email Protection message, they are able to see the response saved in the Sent items. If they click in the Compose button and send the internal user a message, the message is received by the internal user, but is not saved in the Sent items.
The settings page for PDF Email Protection clearly says that the saved messages are for Secure Reply: "Save a copy of all Secure Reply messages in my "Sent" messages folder."
Please note that when Web Email Protection (WEP) is available for the external users, this issue does not occur, even if WEP is not the preferred delivery method.
This is a request for uniform behavior.
Either the Compose button should not be available for the user or, the Sent message using the Compose button should also be saved. Ideally this should be configurable.
