After installing a Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud (SEP Cloud) client the Symantec Security Cloud (SSC) portal shows that client in a Pending state for an extended period of time.
On the effected client, check the Security History logs and look for a "Command Enroll Started" event. There should be a matching "Command Enroll Completed" event as well if enrollment was successful. If the "Command Enroll Completed" event is not present then enrollment has failed.
If a client stays in this state for an extended period of time it can be a symptom that the clients enrollment has failed.
To resolve this issue please do the following:
Un-enroll the affected device from the SSC portal
Uninstall the SEP Cloud client from the device
Re-enroll/reinstall the client by logging into the SSC portal and starting the enrollment process again
