Symantec Web Gateway (SWG) fails to start HTTP/S proxy service after it is rebooted. As a result, PCs connecting to SWG proxy are not able to access the Internet.
SWG is running in the proxy only mode.
A temporary workaround is to change the Management Interface Name in Administration > Configuration > Network and click Save to apply the change.
In the Proxy setting > Flush Proxy Cache, click on Flush All button to reload SWG proxy service.
It is not recommended to reboot the SWG appliance unless there is any specific reaon to do so.
The problem can be resolved by adding or registering the SWG management interface hostname with an Active Directory DNS server.
