Ghost Solution Suite

Issue/Introduction

This can occur when performing a computer configuration change using Ghost Solution Suite in either a job or in a right click configuration change function. The job fails with the error noted below:

An invalid dn syntax has been specified

Status Code:  -2147016654

Cause

This error is likely the result of the user account (that is being used for making changes on the domain) not having enough rights to make changes to this computer account on the domain.

Resolution

Elevate the permissions on your domain for the user account executing the configuration tasks by Ghost.

To identify what account is being used by Ghost in the console, navigate to Tools>Options and locate the Domain Accounts tab to see the accounts that are used for these tasks.
