When upgrading a Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition (SEP SBE) cloud server agent using LiveUpdate, you see the error "LiveUpdate operations are unable to finish".
This error occurs when the update launches.
LiveUpdate operations are unable to finish. Until the update is complete, this computer will report an unknown state, but will still be protected. Please login as Administrator to complete the update. Small Business Server users must enable and use the system-created Administrator account.
The automatic agent upgrade pushed through LiveUpdate requires full administrative privileges on the computer to properly run.
First, log in to the server with a local administrator or system administrator account. LiveUpdate will attempt the update again within 15-30 minutes.
If LiveUpdate cannot update the agent after 30 minutes, follow these steps:
Verify that the server has restarted and check for the file C:\Program Files\Symantec.cloud\AntiVirus_NEW\LUMSIWrapper.exe to verify the first stage of the update has completed (delivery).
Note: If the AntiVirus_NEW folder or the LUMSIWrapper.exe file do not exist, uninstall the agent, and then install a new client.
Open a Windows Command Prompt as an administrator:
Click Start > Run.
In the search results, right-click cmd.exe, and click Run as administrator.
At the command prompt, enter the following commands:
