FEATURE REQUEST: Add a setting in Encryption Desktop to control whether PGP Zip attachments on non-encrypted e-mails should be auto-decrypted
Last Updated February 22, 2017
Since Symantec Encryption Desktop (SED) version 10.3.2 MP8, the client is no longer auto-decrypting PGP Zip encrypted attachments to non-encrypted e-mails. Since that version, the only way to decrypt the attachment is to double click it so that it's opened in PGP Zip. Then enter the passphrase, which will decrypt the original file.
This Feature Request has been raised so that the end users may be able to make a choice whether they want the auto-decryption of PGP Zip attachments enabled or disabled. This way the end users who were making use of the auto-decryption feature would be able to continue to do so, while the users who didn't want the auto-decryption to happen can turn it off.
As of now, there is no workaround to this behavior. Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 MP8 and newer will not auto-decrypt the PGP Zip attachments.
