You want to set up Auto-deploy for you SVA's or you have manual deployed your SVA and would like to change to an Auto-deploy set up.
PLEASE NOTE:Be aware that if you use A Data Store or a Network Defined on the host it will use the host specific settings and these settings must be configured on and for each ESXi host or the >>> SVA will fail to deploy <<< to the ESXi hosts that are not configured. Here is how to configure the hosts via the Web and Thick client.
If you already have SVA’s deployed manually you would want to following in the order presented:
Manually un-deploy all SVAs
Configure network/storage/IP pool for deployment for each ESXi host in the cluster you setting up to protect before enabling Auto-deploy
Here are the steps to configure this:
You can configure the SVA settings via the Web Client by selecting the:
Agent VM Settings
Edit the settings
You can configure the SVA settings via the Thick Client by selecting the:
Agent VM settings
Properties tab on the upper left
Data store selection
Agent VM Network
Some of the benefits of Auto-deploy are:
When hosts are added into/removed from a cluster that has Auto-deploy enabled the SVA will be automatically deployed and un-deployed
When a new version of the SVA is uploaded to the UMC, the previous deployed versions of the SVA on a cluster with Auto-deploy enabled will be automatically upgraded
