Changing passwords on vCenter, some GVMs status report offline or poweroff.
Changing passwords on vCenter (or vShield, etc) after DCS:S has been set up and the SVA’s have been deployed is not recommended unless some prerequisite steps are done first.
Normally we would recommend that if the customer is going to make changes to the vCenter / vShield components (e.g. changing passwords / changing certificates / etc), s/he should first bring down the SVAs --> unregister the VMware vShield configuration from the UMC.
Un-register the vCenter / vShield from the UMC by clicking the “X” shown below.
Please also note that you have to bring down (i.e. “Undeploy”) any SVA’s that are running in vShield before the UMC will allow you to unregister the VMware vShield component.
After the VMware vShield configuration has been removed from the UMC, the customer can make the changes on the vCenter / vShield and then once those are done, re-add the VMware vShield settings in the UMC and deploy the SVAs again.
