This issue is fixed in IPS definitions 9/12/2016 rev.13. Run LiveUpdate to resolve the issue.
For managed SEP clients, please ensure that your Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) has run LiveUpdate to download the latest content. If an older revision of IPS definitions had been configured in the environment to avoid the crash (see How to Backdate Virus Definitions in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager), it is safe to now modify your LiveUpdate content policy for Intrusion Prevention signatures and click on the radio button "Use latest available" and click "OK".
