With Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11, if the Display language is set to one of the supported Non-English languages (German, French, Spanish, or Japanese) within the Operating System, both the Display language, as well as the Keyboard layout will be set to this language within the Pre-Boot Authentication (BootGuard) area.
This can be an issue when the Display language differs from the Keyboard layout language.
A Feature Request has been submitted to allow the keyboard layout language and the display language of the OS to differ at the Preboot environment of Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.
Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. Technical Support filed a Feature Request to add the functionality listed above. This Feature Request is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version of the product.

As a workaround, you can change the Keyboard layout in one of the two following ways:
1. Pressing the "F2" key within the PBA. This will allow you to temporarily set the Keyboard layout. It will be revert back the next tim the machine reboots.
2. Use the the Command Prompt to issue an "eedadmincli" command that will update the Keyboard Layout that is set. This setting will persist through additional reboots. The syntax for this command is as follows:
