Run CleanWipe, and select the Client Software option.
Search through the Program Files, Program Files (x86), and ProgramData directories for remnants of previous installs of Symantec AntiVirus or Symantec Endpoint Protection. If found, delete these directories.
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, and Windows 10
C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection
Run Norton Removal Tool again to see if the error message has been resolved. If you still receive the error message, continue with the next step. Otherwise, you can continue installing your Symantec software.
Run CleanWipe again, and select the Client Software option.
After running CleanWipe, restart the computer.
Run Norton Removal Tool one more time. If you still receive the error message, contact Support.
