The Cisco Jabber contact list window will intermittently redirect and display the SSO portal instead of contacts.
Two issues can cause this behavior.
Login window session timeout.
When the Jabber window opens it generates a session key. This key will expire after approximately 20 minutes if no credentials are entered. This is normal and desired secure behavior.
Multiple active network connections.
When two or more network connections with Internet access are available to the system the host may switch which NIC is used for communication. It does so using the session key generated originally, and if a different NIC is used when the credentials are entered, the session key is incorrect. This causes a communication failure condition and the SSO portal is displayed instead.
Typically these are transient connection issues and can be resolved with any of the following steps.
Flushing DNS cache.
On Windows, run the following from a command prompt:ipconfig /flushdns
On Mac, run the following from Terminal: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache
Disabling additional NICs that have Internet access when not in use (i.e., disabling WiFi when using a wired connection).
Restarting the Jabber application and connecting again after a few moments.
