Detection checks including registry key rules fail with error GetExpressionRegistryKeyValues(). Invalid reg key specifier Agent Task History shows "Failure – return code 0" and the logs show a sev 1 explaining, "GetExpressionRegistryKeyValues(). Invalid reg key specifier : ''.
This is caused by a defect when reading the Wow6432Node registry key tree.
This fix is included in 8.1 Release Update 1 (RU1).
Using the version prior to RU1 in 8.1, a point-fix is available. Please follow the steps below to apply the point-fix.
Log onto the SMP (Symantec Management Platform) Server with the Application Identity account (App ID credentials).
Download the attached archive and extract to the SMP Server.
Execute PFInstaller2.exe and choose to Install Files.
When complete, enable the policies to upgrade the Symantec Management Agent to apply the fix to the clients.
NOTE: After agents have been upgraded, it can take up to 24 hours for the fix to work itself through the system.
