Endpoint Detection and Response Advanced Threat Protection Platform

Issue/Introduction

The Health Status in the Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) UI shows "Device is encountering low resource condition".

 

Resolution

If the Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) appliance console shows "Device is encountering low resource condition" do the following.

1. Do either of the following:

    • Click Settings > Appliances. Select the appliance to view the setting page for that appliance.  Hover over the circle Health Status to view more details of the "Device is encountering low resource condition".

OR

    • Click Logging > System Activity.  You can view useful information about the issues that occur at the warning or error level.

2. Write down the information you find or take a screen shot of the message.

3. Open a Support ticket with Symantec Support. Make sure to provide the logs from the EDR appliance or Virtual Machine (VM) by running the 'gather_logs' from the command line (CLI) as the 'admin' account. Provide the Support team with the Universal Unique Identifier (UUID).  This can be obtain from the (CLI) by running the 'bsupport'.  Take a screen shot or cut and paste the (UUID) in the Support case that you have open. Provide any requested screen shots of the error and attached to the case.
