End users are experiencing intermittent slowness accessing websites. When the slowness happens, all users and all websites are affected. This happens once or twice every hour during business hours and resolves by itself without admin intervention. The slowness condition lasts between three to eight minutes. The ProxySG waits between 15 and 40 seconds before sending the GET request it received from the client, to online content server (OCS).
This slowness is most likely caused by slow DNS or slowness completing the TCP handshake. Obtain a packet capture (PCAP) and check the PCAP for:
1. How long DNS took. If DNS is filtered out, check at what time the ProxySG sent the SYN out. This would indicate that DNS response time was slow, because the ProxySG only sends the SYN out once DNS resolution completes. 2. What time the TCP handshake completes relative to the client's GET request.
