Issue/Introduction

When logging into the CAS device a message is displayed "Invalid birth Certificate. The Content Analysis System does not have a valid birth certificate. Please contact support"

Resolution

1.  If the hardware appliance does not have a valid birth certificate.  Run this command:

  1. Ensure that the CAS device is able to resolve abrca.bluecoat.com,
  2. From the CAS CLI enter enable mode and enter request-appliance-certificate. Below is the sequence of the command and the expected output:
     

CAS> en
CAS# request-appliance-certificate
Success
CAS#

2.  If this is a virtual CAS installation, ensure that a network connection is available for the virtual machine, refresh the UI, and you should be prompted for credentials to download the birth certificate.
