The sysinfo from a ProxySG can be broken down into 3 sections.
- Configuration: These are areas that configure the ProxySG from the IP Address to the policy.
- Statistical Values: Each part of the ProxySG usage is recorded in these values. The downside is that these are single points in time and used for reference only. To get a clearer picture over time we use the snapshot_stats files.
- PDM (Persistent Data Values): These are the graphs that a user would see on the ProxySG GUI Interface. The graph time range from Hourly to Yearly. Each graph is made up of the previous average value so the Hourly average becomes the Daily value for the previous hour.
The sysinfo_stats file is made up of only 2 sections of the sysinfo and spans a range of time specified in the Snapshot Section.
- Statistical Values: As mentioned in the sysinfo File Structure we can now take a Statistical value and graph this over a time period.
- PDM (Persistent Data Values): These are the graphs that a user would see on the ProxySG GUI Interface. The graph time range from Hourly to Yearly. Each graph is made up of the previous average value so the Hourly average becomes the Daily value for the previous hour.
Typically the sysinfo snapshot would be used if if looking at changes in configuration, whereas the sysinfo_stats is useful when we are just interested in the statistical or PDM data
