New Messaging Gateway appliance does not have latest software installed

When installing and configuring a new Messaging Gateway hardware appliance, the installed software release may not be the most recent available software release.
Hardware vendor lead time may result in some appliances being prepared and shipped with an older software release.
During the installation and registration process, Messaging Gateway will detect whether it is running the most recent software release and, of not, will offer to automatically update to the latest software release. The optional update may be skipped if an update to the latest release is not desired.
Note: SMG requires that Scanner systems must be running the same software version as the Control Center in order for the Control Center to communicate with and apply configuration to the Scanner.
