Issue/Introduction

When the end user has their iphone connected to the system and they open itunes then kvoop.exe has high CPU usage for a long period of time. This can cause a performance impact on the machine.

n/a

Environment

14.x
Apple iTunes

Cause

The hit in CPU performance is due to the type of application monitoring detection set for Apple iTunes

Resolution

This issue can be addressed by changing the file access option for Apple iTunes. You can either disable Apple iTunes file access or change it from open to read. Read access has a far better performance impact.

1. Go to System > Agents > Application Monitoring
2. Select Apple iTunes
3. Under Application Monitoring Configuration and Application file access change the option from open to read or uncheck the Application File Access.
