Changing the hostname on the SSL Visibility Appliance is not persistent across reboot
Last Updated October 03, 2018
Changing the hostname on SSL Visibily (SSLV) will apply and save without error, however upon reboot, the host name reverts to the old name.
This is a byproduct of the hostname expansion feature which expands the hostname by doing a DNS lookup and after obtaining the FQDN it re-writes the entry to /etc/hosts.
The automatic hostname expansion feature has been removed. The fix will be included in SSLV version 220.127.116.11.
Workaround: We have found that sometimes if you change the hostname to something completely different than the original, such as "test", then reboot the SSLV, then change it again to what you want it to be that it will change successfully.
