Issue/Introduction

When accessing the Symantec Management console from one computer you get an error that you currently do not have sufficient network access rights to the Notification Server console.

However, if logged into another computer with the same credentials, access is allowed without error. You currently do not have sufficient network access rights to the Notification Server console.
Please contact your local area network administrator for further assistance.

Cause

Windows Credential cache on the computer with the issue is substituting a set of cached credentials for the credentials that the user is loged in with.

Resolution

  1. Test to see if the resolution in this article applies to your situation.
    1. In the console select Help, then About Symantec Management Platform.
    2. Take note of the user listed here. These are the credentials that the Operating system is supplying to when trying to access the console.
    3. If this is different than the credentials that you are logged in with, and/or different than the credentials you opened IE with. This article applies.
  2. Close all browsers.
  3. Open the Windows Credentials cache.
    1.  Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage Windows Credentials
  4. Remove any/all of the following credentials (Note: Credentials may be listed more than once under different sections).
    1. Credentials for the account you are currently logged in with. (The account that should be used, but is being swapped out)
    2. Credentials for the account that is being used. (The account that is being swapped in)
    3. Credentials that indicate the IP address or Server name of the Symantec Notification Server.

You should now be able to open the console and have the correct (currently logged-in user) credentials passed to IE and have the correct access to the Symantec Management console.
