The current agent is experiencing issues and needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled again.
Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition Cloud
This applies to various situations where a full uninstall and reinstall of the agent is needed. It also solves some activation issues, including stuck expired license PINs, as well as agents that have issues updating due to corrupt definitions files.
Uninstall and reinstall using the redistributable install package. This can be done without uninstalling first.
WARNING: This will reboot the machine at least once, with no warning to the end user.
Download the redistributable package following these instructions: Command-line arguments for Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition redistributable package.
Run the .exe from the command line:
Open a command line and navigate to the place you saved the package (Administrative rights are required to install the cloud agent onto a computer. Please run the commandline using 'Run as Administrator.')
Run the .exe with the additional command line arguments -silent -refreshall Example: Symredistributable.exe -silent –refreshall
If the machine does not reboot itself after 5-10 minutes after running the Symredistributable.exe -silent –refreshall command, reboot the machine and run just the Symredistributable.exe command. (The refreshall does the uninstall, this should now already be done.)
It may take some time for the new agent to activate. Check it in a few hours, or try running Live Update from the agent interface.
With the above command line arguments, the package will run silently, without any user interface, and installs the cloud agent to any computer running a supported operating system.
