How to enable live update for CCS in windows 2012R2
Last Updated September 26, 2017
live update doesn't seem to work when CCS is deployed using windows 2012R2 servers
On the application server:
- Temporarily disable UAC: Backup your registry Modify the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system\ EnableLUA set it to 0 Reboot the server - check that "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\LiveUpdate\luall.exe" is set to run as admin right-click the file and select properties: select the "enable as run as admin" checkbox - modify :C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Settings.Default.LiveUpdate (this is default) add: PREFERENCES\LOG_FILE_SIZE=4294967295 PREFERENCES\MAX_LIVETRI_SIZE=104857600 PREFERENCES\MAX_PACKAGE_CONTENTS_SIZE=73400320055555 PREFERENCES\MAX_PACKAGE_SIZE=7340032007777755555 PREFERENCES\MAX_TRIFILE_SIZE=10485760
- remove backups of file: C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Settings.LiveUpdate.lastgood (or similar) - restarted all CCS services on app server and manager - run C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\LiveUpdate\luall.exe as administrator. - The updates it will not show up in the UI, until you run: "common tasks" > "check for updates" (fires off health/status)
You should now see the current updates.
