Using a UNC source for a Package creates an empty GUID folder in the Software Library. There are no functional impacts except for extraneous folders being created in the Software Library share location.
This is a defect.
This issue is fixed in version 8.5. This issue is also fixed in 8.1 RU2 in the attached point-fix. To apply, follow these instructions:
Download and extract the attached archive to the SMP Server, to a location that is not within the Altiris install directory.
