The field Description of a Software License gets wiped when you modify the license via the IT Management Views interface.
Steps to reproduce:
Open a Software Product via Manage > Software > All Software Products.
Select the tab Licenses.
Select the already assigned license with a description filled in.
Click the pencil to edit the license.
Click OK, no edit of any field necessary.
Now go to Home > Service and Asset Management > Software License.
Look for the license you above 'modified', the description field will be empty.
It's also strange that the Software License in the 'new view' has no Description field, only a Comment field which can be supplied. So it looks like the new view is not reading the field to show it as there no field to display it, but it's still written to the DB and as there was nothing read, the value is empty.
