Issue/Introduction

After successfully upgrading to Symantec Endpoint Protection 14 RU1 you receive an error message when attempting to start the Management Console.

Cause

Within the install logs - SEPM_INST.LOG there will be at least an entry

MsiSystemRebootPending = 1

or

many entries of "Must reboot to complete operation."
The errors say that javaw.exe is holding on to the .jar files and refusing to release them

Resolution

Restart the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Server (SEPM) after successful installation even when there is no prompt to.
