Issue/Introduction

You are receiving a site certificate blocked message for a category that doesn't pertain to that website.  

Example:  www.Microsoft.com Site Review states it is "Technology/Internet", but it is being blocked for "Email"
 

Cause

The website has alternative names that are tied to their website certificate.
The steps to find out what the alternative names are:

Internet Explorer

  1. Navigate to the website in question
  2. Select the "lock" (Security Report) next to the URL.
  3. Select View Certificates
  4. Click the Details Tab
  5. Select "Subject Alternative Name" in the Field List
  6. The pane below will display the list.

Google Chrome:

  1. Navigate to the website in question
  2. Select the "lock" (View Site Information) next to the URL.
  3. Select Certificate >Valid
  4. Click the Details Tab
  5. Select the Subject Alternative Name in the Fields column
  6. The pane below will display the list

Firefox

  1. Navigate to the website in question
  2. Select the "lock" (Verified by DigiCert) next to the URL.
  3. Select Secure Connection -> More Information
  4. Select Security
  5. View Certificate >Details
  6. Select the Subject Alt Name in the Certificate Fields column
  7. In the Field Volume below your list is displayed

 


Review each of the listed urls for Site Review content listing.

 

 

Resolution

If you believe the website has an invalid categorization, submit to the site review team

If the categorization is correct, and you want to be able to reach the site you can allow the content or add the site to your bypass list.
