Server enrollment into Endpoint Protection Cloud (SEPC) fails due to user role issues.
A server error has occurred
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1 (64 bit) and later
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (64 bit), Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (64 bit)
Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard Edition SP1 (64 bit)
Microsoft Windows Server 2016
Microsoft Windows Server 2019
(Note: Server 2008 must be R2 SP1 and Small Business Server 2011 must be SP1)
You cannot enroll this device, because your user role or subscription does not entitle you for the same.
There are multiple reasons why you may not be able to install or enroll on your server:
Verify server licenses are available on your account
Check if the license is applied to a group -- this is the most overlooked detail. If you purchased a server license and a second subscription was added, and this occurred after your account was made, you will need to create a new group, and select the subscription matching the date you purchased the server licenses on the Create Group page, and finally, create an installation package directing it to the newly made group.
"Enroll this device" only pulls from the default group, which is why you need to create the new group and put your server license there.
Make sure the license type is a server license, not a device license or a user license.
(Note: If you still cannot install, then you might have conflicting software. Contact Technical Support, or open the latest log file in the NortonInstall folder and search for the word "Incompatible.")
If you are trying to run the install and nothing happens, make sure that:
There is no conflicting software
You have a usable license for the installation/enrollment
The operating system is supported (see Environment list above)
IMPORTANT: "Enroll this device" will NOT work if you don't have server licenses in your default group
If you need to purchase server licenses, please do the following:
