Error: An unexpected error has occurred. Contact your system administrator if this problem persists. 

The Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP) admin cannot log in to the Enforce console.

The volume in which DLP is installed begins to fill up with bad incident files (.bad).

Incident Queue begins to grow in size.

Ensure the Oracle Service is running

• Single-Tier and Two-Tier installations 
• See Symantec Data Loss Prevention System Maintenance Guide for your version of DLP, Restarting the system on Windows, or Restarting the system on Linux.
• For all installations, test the connection to the Oracle Database.
• See Test the Data Loss Prevention Enforce Server connection string being used to connect to the Oracle database for detailed steps.

Ensure the Oracle Database instance is not in an idle state by connecting to the Oracle Server using SQLPlus

• See Error: "ORA-12514" or "ORA-12505" for instructions on connecting to the Enforce Oracle Database.

Check the Database used space. If full, add additional data files to Oracle.

• Refer to Error: "ORA-01691: unable to extend lob segment" for a sample query to check used space by the database.
• Refer to Extend tablespace (LOB_TABLESPACE, USERS, etc.) when nearly or critically full for information regarding adding additional data files.

If none of the steps above resolve your issue, open a case with Broadcom Support.
