Issue/Introduction

You need to position your inbound routes in the order you want the Email Security.cloud security services to try to deliver the email traffic.

Resolution

The primary routes are at the top of the lists, followed by the fail over routes. You can change the order of primary and fail over routes. You can only promote a route to primary if it has been checked in the previous 24-hour period.

To have an existing route rechecked, click the Check button. Once the route passes all the technical checks, the status of the route under the "Can promote to primary" column will change to "Yes".

Setting the priority for default inbound routes

  1. Select Services > Email Services > Inbound Routes.
  2. In the Registered Inbound Routes section, use the arrow buttons to move the required route up or down the list.

Note: When you request a change to the primary route, we check the IP address or hostname before promoting the route.

Setting the priority for custom routes in a domain

  1. Select Services > Email Services > Inbound Routes.
  2. For the domain you want to prioritize, click Manage Settings.
  3. In the Change Priority column, use the arrow buttons to move the required routes up and down the list.

Note: When you request a change to the primary route we check the IP address or hostname before promoting the route.

Setting the priority for named routes for Content Control

  2. For the named route you want to prioritize, click Manage Settings.
  3. In the Change Priority column, use the arrow buttons to move the required routes up and down the list.
