Issue/Introduction

STIG requires to add hostname and IP Address to IIS default website bindings:

  • Open IIS Manager.
  • Right-click on the site name under review.
  • Select “Edit Bindings”.
  • Assign hostname entries and unique IP addresses to port 80 for HTTP and port 443 for HTTPS.
  • Click "OK".
  • Select "Apply" from the "Actions" pane.

 

Environment

Found in SMP 8.1 RU1, expect similar results for SMP 8.x

Resolution

We found that when set, the added binding information caused unstable communications on NS and Site Servers.
