Issue/Introduction

The admin and installation guides do a great job of walking through basic purpose, install, and troubleshooting of the domain controller agent. However, it does not mention the logging capabilities of the domain controller. Are there logs?

Resolution

The DCagent does log. To find logs and increase logging:

  1. Go to the SymantecDLP\DC Agent\DCAgentConfig.properties
  2. Note the line:
    # Log configuration file location, relative to the DC Agent installation directory
    LOG_CONFIGURATION_FILE=DCAgentLogging.properties
  3. Go to the DCAgentLogging.properties
  4. Increase logging to TRACE, R
  5. Pull logs from the file noted in the properties file.
